Swedish Massage
A Swedish Massage uses a variety of techniques specifically
designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them
against deep muscles and bones. This technique helps
shorten recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the
tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes.
Swedish massage also increases circulation without
increasing heart load. It stretches ligaments and tendons,
keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish Massage
stimulates the skin and the nervous system, while soothing
nerves. This massage type reduces stress.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage aims to release the chronic patterns of
tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger on
the contracted areas, either following or moving across the
muscle, tendon, and fascia fibers.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage helps alleviate stress and tension which
builds up in soft tissue during physical activity. Sports
Massage quickly and affectively breaks down areas where
minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or
overuse. The process also prepares athletes for peak
performance, drains away fatigue, relieves swelling, reduces
muscle tension, and promotes flexibility. Sports Massage can
also help prevent injuries that get in the way of performance
and achievement, whether a person is a professional or
recreational athlete.
Circulatory Massage
Circulatory Massage combines long strokes, gentle rocking
and stretching, deep musculature sculpting and the precision
of Chinese point work. Circulatory Massage's holistic
approach makes it an affective technique.
Tui Na
Tui Na is a 2,000 year old therapy, working with the body's
energy systems known as meridians. Tui Na works with the
patients qi to bring a balanced state of health. The work is
done entirely with the practitioner's hands to help increase the
beneficial qi flow through the meridian system.
Jin Shin Jyutsu
In Jin Shin Jyutsu, a practitioner applies pressure with his or
her fingertips to the bodys energy lock to bring balance,
release deep tension, and restore the bodys harmonious flow.
Jin Shin Jyutsu employs local disruption can occur such as
stiff, spastic and strained muscles or joints.
Cranial Sacral Therapy
Is a gentle, light-touch method of evaluating the cranio sacral
system which is the environment in which the brain and spinal
cord function. A cranio Sacral system dysfunction can cause
sensory, motor or neurological disabilities. Cranial Sacral
Therapy deals with and resolves chronic cranial sacral issues.
Acupressure
Pressure is applied to the body along twelve main Chinese
meridians or pathways to improve the flow of vital force or Qi.
A single point may be pressed to relieve a specific symptom
or condition, or a series of points can be worked on to
promote over-all wellbeing.
Shiatsu
In Shiatsu therapy the surface of the body is pressed- not
rubbed, stroked, or pulled. The goal of Shiatsu therapy is to
maintain and enhance health and promote recovery of
illnesses. By stimulating the immune system and natural
healing abilities, Shiatsu therapy can treat the body as a whole
and helps to restore physical functions of the nervous and
circulatory systems, musculoskeletal structures ad internal
organs as well.
Orthopedic Neuromuscular Therapy
Neuromuscular therapy is the utilization of static pressure on
specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique
manipulates the soft tissue of the body(muscles, tendons, and
connective tissue to balance the central nervous system). In a
healthy individual, nerves transmit impulses ( which is
responsible for every movement, function, and thought) to the
body very slowly. Injury, trauma, postural distortion and stress
cause nerves to speed up their transmission inhibiting
equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and
dysfunction. It is therefore necessary to stabilize low levels of
neurological activity to maintain normal function and overall
health.
